Surah Al-Fajr is the 89th chapter of the Quran. It opens with oaths about the dawn and the 10 nights, warns of the fate of past nations, and concludes with the address to the reassured soul.
Meaning: By the dawn. And by the ten nights. And by the even and the odd. And by the night when it passes. Is there not in that an oath for one of sense?
Tafsir: Allah swears by the dawn, the first 10 nights of Dhul-Hijjah, and the night. These are sacred times for those who reflect.
Meaning: Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with Ad, Eram with lofty pillars, Thamud, and Pharaoh? They transgressed and increased corruption. So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.
Meaning: Man misjudges wealth and poverty as signs of honor or humiliation. He neglects orphans and the poor, consumes inheritance, and loves wealth excessively. On the Day of Judgment, he will regret and wish he had prepared for his real life.
